Update June 206: Small Town Counseling is now accepting new clients.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What is a Waitlist?
Thank you for your interest in our mental health services and thank you for your patience. Unfortunately, due to high demand for services, we sometimes need to open a waitlist before we can offer you regular weekly sessions. On average, we maintain a waitlist 75% of the year. A waitlist allows us to keep your information on file and contact you when a spot opens with either your preferred therapist or a therapist in our office.
When will the Waitlist open?
We anticipate opening our waitlist and accepting new clients in summer 2026
How do I add my child or me to the Waitlist?
Contact our office at (209) 968-1707 to complete an initial screening with our staff. Should we have a clinician who can meet your needs, we will request basic information, including
(1) Your name or your child’s name and age
(2) Contact information
(3) Permission to follow up with you regarding waitlist status
We can also provide you with additional resources for you to explore in the meantime, should you choose to do so. We do ask, however, that if you schedule with another provider, please contact our office so we may remove your name from the waitlist.
When should I expect a follow-up regarding the waitlist status?
When an appointment becomes available, we will contact waitlisted individuals by phone in the order they joined the list. You will have 48 business hours to return our call and schedule. At that time, we will offer the next available appointment.
If we do not hear from you within 48 business hours, we will assume you are no longer interested and offer the appointment to the next person on our waitlist. If you miss this window but are still interested in services, you are always welcome to contact our office to check current availability.
To help us reach you:
- If you prefer phone contact: Please make sure your voicemail is set up and able to receive messages. You are also welcome to provide a secondary contact number.
- If you prefer email contact: Please provide an email address you check regularly and make sure your inbox can receive messages.
We appreciate your patience and look forward to connecting with you.
I don’t think I can wait.
If you would prefer to be scheduled sooner, we’d be happy to provide you with additional resources. You can contact our office staff at (209) 968-1707.
If you are in crisis please
- Contact your local crisis line (Tuolumne County, Stanislaus County)
- Go to the nearest emergency room
- Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255
- Call 988
Lastly
If you feel we may be a good fit for you or your child and would like to be added to our wait list, contact our office at (209) 968-1707.
Thank you for your patience. We look forward to speaking with you.
